West Timor, Indonesia
THE TRIPRemote. Tropical. Uncrowded perfection.
This isn’t just a surf trip — it’s an escape to one of Indonesia’s most untouched islands.
Warm water. Consistent Indian Ocean swell. Empty lineups. Long reef passes wrapping around a raw, sun-drenched island coastline.
No crowds. No chaos. Just clean waves, island life, and time to reset.

Peak Season (Best & Most Consistent)
Months: May to Sept
Conditions: Highest chance for big swells (often 4-8ft+) and consistent offshore winds.
Shoulder Season (Good & Challenging)
Months: April and October
Conditions: Good weather, fewer crowds, and decent swell consistency.
THE WAVES What you’ll surf
Rote is home to some of Indonesia’s longest, most consistent left-handers — plus a handful of hidden options depending on conditions.
WHY HEREA less-travelled tropical escape
Bath-warm water, boardshorts, and long peeling left-handers reeling over turquoise coral reef. At the remote southern edge of Indonesia, where consistent swell meets empty lineups, limestone cliffs and coconut groves. Surf until your arms give out, then slip into island time.
