The North West is an all-inclusive guided surf adventure for 11 or 14 nights through some of Western Australia’s most isolated and iconic surf regions. Designed specifically for intermediate to advanced surfers, this expedition combines rugged 4x4 travel, remote camping and station stays, quality food, and unforgettable surf experiences along WA’s legendary Coral Coast.
Running from April through to October, this is the prime season to score powerful Indian Ocean swells, offshore winds, and warm days deep in the Australian outback.
Every trip is curated around swell, conditions, tides, and the experience of the group. No two expeditions are ever exactly the same.

We run North West expeditions by request May to October.
Peak Season (Best & Most Consistent)
Months: June to August.
Conditions: Consistent ground swells with mean swell sizes of 1.4m to 1.5m, providing powerful barrels.
Shoulder Season (Good & Challenging)
Months: May and September.
Conditions: Strong ground swell continues, but wind conditions can be less favourable, with higher percentages of bad winds. -

Kalbarri
Where dramatic coastal cliffs meet powerful reef setups — Kalbarri is home to one of Australia’s most iconic left-hand point breaks, Jakes Point. Expect powerful Indian Ocean swell, delivering long mechanical walls over shallow reef, offshore winds, and rugged landscapes unlike anywhere else.

Gnaraloo Station
A remote surfing paradise located on a sheep station hundreds of kilometres from major towns. Gnaraloo combines desert wilderness with crystal-clear water and long peeling reef breaks. Days here revolve around tides, swell charts, campfires, fishing, and chasing empty lineups across the desert coastline.

Red Bluff – Quobba Station
Red Bluff is raw, exposed, and unforgettable. Red cliffs tower above turquoise water while heavy reef breaks fire along the coastline. Access requires off-road driving through isolated desert terrain, adding to the sense of adventure and exclusivity.

A relaxed coastal stop famous for marine life, calm waters, and incredible scenery.
After days of chasing swell and remote surf missions, Monkey Mia offers the chance to unwind, explore, and experience another side of the Coral Coast. Expect turquoise bays, dolphins, wildlife, and stunning sunsets before beginning the return journey south

THE CAMPSWhere you’ll stay
We’ll work our way through some of the most remote country in Australia, basing up where the waves are best — working pastoral stations, hard-deck safari tents and off-grid camps, hundreds of kilometres from the nearest town. Comfort comes in different forms out here, but the setting never lets up: red dirt, empty coastline, and expansive ocean views.
At Gnaraloo Station, a working sheep station, you'll settle into cabin-style accommodation with panoramic ocean views and star-filled skies. Further south at Red Bluff, on Quobba Station, home becomes a hard-deck safari tent perched above the Ocean: simple, solar-powered and open to the sound of the surf, with world-class waves on your doorstep.
