Different seasons bring different waves. Consider the following when making an enquiry.
Seasonal BreakdownAutumn (March – May): The premier season. Winds turn easterly (offshore), and the swells are consistent without the extreme, stormy intensity of winter.
Winter (June – August): Prime time for big wave surfers. High-intensity, large swells hit the coast. While powerful, winter stroms often brings strong onshore winds and unsettled weather.
Spring (September – November): A great transitional period , with cleaner, moderate-sized waves, with swell consistenly remaining high.
Summer (December – February): Warmer water and milder, smaller waves, perfect for beginners. Due to large number of accessible waves there are still plenty of swell magnets for intermediate & advanced surfers.

Margaret River ‘Margies’ Main Break (Surfers Point)
LEFT & RIGHT HAND REEF BREAK
Unlike mechanical reef waves, Main Break feels alive and constantly shifting, with bumps, steps, and changing sections that force surfers to adapt at high speed. On serious swell, it becomes one of Australia’s premier big-wave arenas.

LEFT POINT BREAK
A long, flowing left with drawn-out walls — room to link turns and find your rhythm down the line. The wave has a softer, more flowing shape than nearby reefs, making it ideal for linking turns and finding rhythm across long sections -

RIGHT POINT BREAK
One of WA's heaviest, most respected reefs: steep drops and cavernous barrels when the swell builds. On smaller days it offers long carvable walls, but when the swell builds, North Point turns into a raw slab where positioning and commitment are everything. -

3 Bears, Yallingup
LEFT HAND REEF BREAK
Three Bears is a series of reef peaks that produce playful but high-quality walls with a mix of speed, flow, and punch depending on the bank and swell direction. The waves stand up cleanly over reef and often offer multiple workable sections, making it a wave that rewards creativity and continuous movement rather than survival surfing.

You'll be based in Busselton, the northern gateway to the Margaret River region, with a short drive to every break on the list.
Turquoise bays, granite headlands and karri forest between sessions. We chase the best conditions each day rather than locking to one spot.
THE BASECAMPWhere you’ll stay
A private coastal retreat in Busselton, exclusively for a small group of max 10 surfers. The retreat offers spacious communal areas to relax between sessions, a gym and recovery area, and a dedicated host on hand to assist from start to finish.
Located 200 metres from a swimming beach and walking distance to Busselton's high street, all the daily necessities are on your doorstep. Located in the Margaret River Wine Region, between several major breaks, Western Australia’s finest waves are at your fingertips.
