Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is a UK ocean conservation charity working to protect the health of the nation's beaches, rivers, and lakes. Through its Safer Seas & Rivers Service app and live UK sewage map, SAS tracks real-time data on combined sewer overflow discharges, more than 18,000 tracked so far, and turns it into practical pollution alerts for surfers, swimmers and paddlers across over 850 locations.

Beyond monitoring, SAS campaigns for greater transparency and accountability from water companies, backed by citizen science testing and sickness reporting, in pursuit of cleaner, safer water for everyone who uses it.
