The Wave Project
For 15 years, The Wave Project has been changing young lives through surf therapy, using the power of the ocean, the challenge of learning to surf, and a genuinely supportive community to help children and young people facing anxiety, low self-esteem, and other mental health struggles.
With over 500,000 children in the UK still waiting for the mental health support they need, their NHS-recognised programmes give young people something rare: a space where they can build confidence, form real friendships, and rediscover a sense of achievement, one wave at a time.
Salt Atlas knows first-hand what the ocean can do for a person's state of mind, it's the reason we do what we do. That's why we're proud to partner with The Wave Project, using our community of surf travellers to help spread the word about a cause that puts surfing's power to genuinely good use.
Help put more young people on a board
Every donation to The Wave Project goes toward giving children and young people facing mental health challenges access to surf therapy, a proven, NHS-recognised approach that builds confidence, reduces anxiety, and creates real, lasting friendships. As a UK-registered charity, The Wave Project can also claim Gift Aid on eligible donations, adding 25% at no extra cost to you. Salt Atlas is proud to support their work, and we'd encourage anyone in our community who's felt what the ocean can do for their own wellbeing to consider giving what they can.
