Beginner-intermediate through advanced. You should be comfortable in the ocean and able to paddle and catch your own waves, and your guide matches the break to the group and the forecast each day. If you'd like extra guidance, add lessons with qualified instructors. Unsure? Tell us about your surfing and we'll give you an honest assessment.
Is there any coaching?
Not as standard, which keeps your days free and the price lower. If you'd like some, add 1.5-hour lessons with qualified instructors or a day of one-on-one high-performance coaching.
Can I come on my own?
Definitely. Plenty of guests travel solo, and couples, friends and families join too. With a group of up to 10 sharing meals and film nights, you won't be on your own for long.
How do I get there?
Fly into Perth. Transfers from Perth Airport to the house are included within the set arrival and departure windows. Flights aren't included, but Salt Atlas can help you book through ATOL-protected partners.
Which month should I pick?
Autumn (March to May) has the most consistent conditions, with offshore winds. Summer (December to February) brings warmer water and smaller waves, good for building confidence. This year's confirmed trips leave on 20 October, 19 November and 13 December, and the December trip lines up with the start of summer. For 2027, tell us the month you'd like.
What else can I do there?
Optional extras include whale and dolphin watching, the Busselton Underwater Observatory, diving and snorkelling at the jetty or the HMAS Swan wreck, jet ski tours, a wildfood canoe tour, craft beer and winery tours, and fitness classes.
Do I need a visa or insurance?
Travel insurance is required. Visa requirements depend on your nationality, and arranging one is your responsibility.
