You don't need any experience. You get proper coaching and a guide in the water every day, and the South West has plenty of sheltered spots where the waves are gentle enough to learn.

Yes. The trip is designed for beginners up to intermediate surfers. You start in sheltered spots with qualified instructors, and your guide picks breaks that suit your level each day.
Can I come on my own?
Definitely. Plenty of guests travel solo. With a group of up to 10 sharing meals, film nights and days out, you won't be on your own for long.
How do I get there?
Fly into Perth. Transfers from Perth Airport to the house are included within the set arrival and departure windows. Flights aren't included, but Salt Atlas can help you book through ATOL-protected partners.
Which month should I pick?
For your first time surfing, December to May is the sweet spot: summer has the warmest water and smallest waves, and autumn has the most consistent conditions. This year's confirmed trips leave on 20 October, 19 November and 13 December, and the December trip lines up with the start of summer. For 2027, tell us the month you'd like.
What else can I do there?
Optional extras include whale and dolphin watching, wine tours, caving, snorkelling and scuba, kayaking, mountain biking, skydiving and a trip to Rottnest Island.
Do I need a visa or insurance?
Travel insurance is required. Visa requirements depend on your nationality, and arranging one is your responsibility.
